Apes on Klaytn. Why not just call them Klapes? That was the thinking behind the latest NFT project to drop on Klaytn. Inspired by Curious George as well as the children’s game “Barrel of Monkeys’’, the artist behind the project, Andrew Dorland, wanted to create a friendly, expressive character that could bring people together in a fun community.
Klapes is a collection of 5,000 programmatically generated ape cartoons that are tokenized on Klaytn. Users have to mint the non-fungible tokens before they know which specific Klape they are getting — adding an element of mystery to the purchase. Whether you’re feeling mad, sad, or glad, there’s a Klape for every moment of the day. Collect, trade and share your Klape moments with your friends in the Klape community!
“We really believe in the KLAY coin and wanted to create something on the Klaytn blockchain that would make a splash in the Klaytn NFT space,” says Justin Smith, CEO of Marshmallow Jetpack, Inc., the company behind the Klapes NFT project.
The Klapes NFTs will officially be open for minting on Klaytn on
15 December, 2021 @ 7:00pm PST / 16 December, 2021 @ 12:00pm KST.

How to play:
- Mint the Klapes NFTs on the Klapes website. Each individual user can mint up to 20 NFTs per transaction, with as many transactions as you wish while the supply lasts.
- Transfer the Klapes NFTs to OpenSea for trading.
- Collect them all!
